Very pleased to be able to link to Petra's new document on Setti for vanilla Str8ts. Now in the main menu or directly here. Great work.

by: Hel

Real fun, done without candidates, thanks!

by: Martinus

Relaxing start. B settis, settis and x power did it. Thanks, kst!

by: charliepat

A very good one. Settis and box-settis lead to the solution.

by: pax

Thank you kst, and thank you Hel for the WC recommendation

by: optimator

Did it WC, thanks to the suggestion. Was really tough that way, but I was able to finish it after about an hour. Thanks for the puzzle!

by: Martinus

B settis and settis did it. Thanks!

by: Hel

Very nice too, also doable without candidates. Thanks a lot, kst!

Very enjoyable start into a rainy Str8ts sunday.

by: ThomasF

very nice, but can not imagine to do it WC. Thanks

by: optimator

another good one, thanks

by: kmr

For me a hard nut, surely standard tools, but really challenging combination. Thanks!

by: pax

WC, but hard that way...

Tried WC, but got too difficult. Had to use candidates

by: kst

by: Martinus

Standard tools, despite one small chain regarding settis towards the end. Thanks, kst!

by: jgrab

Very smooth; many naked pairs and quadruples; and like Martinus a small Setti chain towards the end (A4 vs. D5).

by: BP

Fun with fishes and many naked pairs. Needed no chains, maybe we made a lucky mistake.

by: Hel

Like BP, VCE in E4 avoided the chain.

some swordfishes using a diagonal, very nice

by: kst

by: jgrab

Quite a lot to do. Started with DF123 considerations, but may be I had a lucky start. Several Settis involved.

by: charliepat

Needed several chains. Maybe I missed something.

by: Auwei

Too hard a puzzle for me, after 6 solved cells no idea how to get on

by: jgrab

Both options for F123 (hi/lo) lead to the same ranges in C3456 and G1234, and for the same hi/lo decision in D123.

by: Auwei

@jgrab: Solved C1,D1,G1,G2,E2,A8; Got stuck where D1=4, C3-C6=1to5, G34=78. I see no short way to proceed

by: BP

Like Auwei. @jgrab: Could you give us more details? I already have high/low in D123 and ranges C3456, G1234, but that doesn't help. I also know by UR that 6 in col 2 and J2=67,but that doesn't help either.

After deciding hi/low in F1-3 both possible positions of 9 in row D reduces the 3 candidates in D9 to one (different) candidate. Eliminating the third candidate in D9 solves C89 immediately.

by: jgrab

@ BP: Thank you for the B-Str8ts strategy paper! I think, there is one small error in it: On the bottom of slide 9, it must be "C8=2" rather than "A8=2".

@jgrab: Thank you very much for your feedback, you are of course right. At some point I will release an update of the paper. Have fun with the B variant!
